There are times in life when you just have to just go for it. Take the jump. I had mountain-biked up to this abandoned quarry where rainwater had collected over the years; forming a small lake from which dynamited cliffs rose straight out. These 5 story-high vertical walls were going to be my way out. An instant earlier, I had put on my rock-climbing shoes, taken several steps back, and sprinted towards the edge. And in this moment, suspended in mid-air, I felt as alive and as free as one can be. No constraints. No worries. No limits. Pure sensation.

I wonder how you took the picture??? Were you alone or what?? It looks really great “dans le feu de l’action”!!

It was a local farmer whom I had stayed with that night. I helped him milk his cow and load up sheep in a pickup truck that morning. That’s a whole other postcard though…Anyways, he showed me this place and took the picture (I would’ve never known there was such a cool place on top this mountain), he also showed me an amazing half-submerged cave hidden behind a waterfall at the base of the mountain. This guy was like my own personal tour guide, it was awesome!
