My little sister was up for a real expedition and she had definitely proven herself over the last three weeks: We had ridden (pushed) our packed bicycles about 1000 kilometers along river beds and goat tracks, through hail storms and over 3000-meter passes to this stunning valley hidden deep in the High Atlas Mountains. Alas, our only way out was up these cliffs, and rock-climbing with our bicycles and gear strapped to our backs was simply not part of the deal. As for hitching a helicopter ride, that seemed unlikely in these parts. Fortuitously, the local alternative came trotting along.
